Check and correct your classification

Every classification decision TimerOS makes happens on your device — and you can inspect it. In about two minutes you’ll open the transparency view, see exactly why your current activity was labelled productive or idle, and teach the on-device model when it gets one wrong.

This works for every worker on every tier — no special role needed, just the desktop app running with the timer bar active. One limit to know up front: the correction buttons appear only in Automatic mode. In Rule-based mode decisions are deterministic, and in Manual mode nothing is auto-classified. Changing the mode itself is reserved for managers.

1. 1Click the Dashboard button on the timer bar to open the dashboard window.
2. 2Open Settings — the gear icon at the bottom of the sidebar — and scroll to the Activity Detection section.
3. 3Read the Current Activity card. It shows your live label, the part of the classifier that decided it in parentheses, a Why line with the reason, and the app and window title it read.
4. 4For the full rulebook, click How your activity is classified. The dialog shows a live “Right now” panel, your employer’s custom rules (your own, on Freelancer), and searchable Counts as Productive and Counts as Idle lists, split into apps and websites & tabs.
5. 5Spot a wrong label? Back on the Current Activity card, next to Wrong? click Productive or Idle to record the right answer for what you’re doing now.
6. 6Watch for the confirmation — “Thanks — the classifier will learn from this”. The on-device model retrains from your correction immediately; the window title never leaves your device.
