Overview

TimerOS is a time-management platform for teams and freelancers, and each company gets its own workspace. Time is tracked in one place only: the Windows desktop app. Everything else, from managing people and reading reports to billing and a portal for your clients, happens in the other apps.

All the apps work on the same workspace data, so a change made in one shows up in the others.

The apps

  • Windows desktop app: the only place time is tracked. Its timer bar stays on top of other windows and has Break, Dashboard, Collapse and Logout buttons. A separate dashboard window, which you open when you need it, holds every page. See installing on Windows.
  • Web app: the desktop dashboard in your browser, for everyone on the team. It covers performance, projects and tasks, goals, approvals, support and settings. It has no timer.
  • Website dashboard: the admin area of the website, for owners and admins. Here they manage users and teams, subscription, billing and invoices, support tickets, notices to staff and clients, tracking rules, branding and account settings. Members who sign in there are sent to the web app.
  • Client portal: a separate site with your workspace’s branding, where your clients sign in to view projects, pay invoices, report incidents, approve changes and accept your notices. See Client portal.
  • Website: where you register a workspace and, in the website dashboard, manage your plan and billing.

An Android app is coming soon. Like the web app, it will let you manage your workspace from your phone, but it will not track time.

Two things to know first. The desktop app is Windows-only today (macOS is planned). You can buy the Freelancer and Startup plans yourself; Enterprise is in early access (“Talk to sales”). These docs point out Enterprise-only features where they come up. See pricing.

Using these docs

Start with Install on Windows and Set up your workspace. Then try the short tutorials (two to three minutes each) and read about the areas you need: time states, activity classification, reports and security.

Not available yet
Some features, such as single sign-on and an audit log, are planned but not built yet. An Android app is in testing but can’t be downloaded yet. The AI assistant connector is live; other integrations are planned. Each one is marked where it comes up in these docs. See the roadmap for what is coming and when.
